September 24, 2007 at 7:15 p.m. the guard was walking back into the lobby from the main doors when he saw a large figure glide from the freight elevator towards the lobby desk. he said, WOW that was wild. He did not see if from the corner of his eye, it was straight within his sight. Then at 10:45 p.m. as the night watchman arrived, the gaurd was informing him about the meetings on Tuesday night. At that very moment we heard a bang against the bank door. We stopped and then heard someone trying to open the big brass doors leading into the bank. The watchman slid over so not to be heard and swung the door open to find no one.

 

November 2007 the guard was talking to one of the lawyers who use to work on the upper floors. They have since moved out. He was telling him that for a long time he would hear children running late at night in the 8th floor library while he was reading. He knew he was alone but he would look around and see no one.

 

November 14, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. the night watchman was in the basement bathroom leaving the lights on as always. The cleaning crew left at 8:30 p.m. He took the freight elevator to the lobby and then headed right back to the basement. At that point he saw the lights in the bathroom were now off! He checked to be sure the switch was working right and it was normal.

 

November 21, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. the manager was on the 11th floor trying to fix one of the shades. While in the office, he heard the door next to him slam shut! He looked all around seeing no one. The whole floor is empty and locked off from the rest of the building. No windows were open.

 

December 3, 2007 at 10:30 p.m the guard was in the main lobby when he looked up towards the front door and saw a black like image crawl along the floor. It was one of the more odd things seen here.

 

December 10, 2007 at 8:30 p.m. after checking the back door to make sure it was locked, the guard turned around and saw a black silhouette of a man creeping up along the wall behind him! He saw this dead on. He thought it was one of the cleaners leaving, but no one was there!! It was so clear that he stopped in his tracks. There was enough lights on to see it against the darkness. It was one of the more disturbing things seen in this building.

 

January 11, 2008 at 11 p.m. the guard was walking on the far right side on the 4th floor when he heard a woman's voice right next to him say "who?" Only it was long and drwan out. Very creepy! He froze looking around, but of course no one was there.

 

Then on January 16, 2008 he was walking by the same area again on 4 around 10 p.m. when Iheheard a man talking! He stopped in his tracks to listen and then it faded away. He could not tell what it was saying, but this has often happened in the building for decades.

 

January 26, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. the gaurd was in the lobby near the desk when he heard someone shaking keys in the lobby stairwell. He checked to see if someone was there. This has been reported since the 1980's but it's the first time he ever heard it. It's really really odd and creepy. The last guy to hear it was a few months back around 4 a.m.

 

March 7, 2008 things have been quite for a while, but that changed last Friday night when one of the cleaners was working in the bank at 7:45 p.m. As he was doing his duties, he kept seeing a showdow following him as he worked. He got so scared he walked into the lobby to see his boss and asked her if she was trying to scare him! She said NO !! I don't have time to play games with you I was working up on 3. Which is true the guard was there. The cleaner was the only one in the bank. He said he also had this awful feeling someone was watching him. This feeling has been reported by countless people over the years.

 

March 12, 2008 as a busy day continued into the early afternoon hours, a female employee was working away at her desk on the 4th floor. Her door was left open so she could see into the hallway. As she was going about her daily business, she saw a very large and black silhouette pass by within the glass of the door facing her. After a closer inspection, she discovered that the door she saw this image in opens into a wall!! It was closed off years ago. So, that sure added to the story. She was shocked yet impressed she was able to see this image which has been on the march in the building as of late.

 

March 24, 2008 as the guard and cleaner were standing near the info desk in the lobby, they saw a dark image move into the lobby from the huge brass doors. It was so clear it made them turn their heads and follow it!

 

March 26, 2008 7:45 p.m. the cleaning lady was getting off the elevator on the 5th floor when she heard a large dog barking! She was in such fear that she got back on the elevator and headed down to the lobby where the guard was talking with Hill the cleaner. She asked then if anyone came into the building with a dog? They both said no. They were in the lobby and bank area since 4 p.m. So, wthey headed up to 4 as Hill stayed in the lobby and found no dogs. They even checked the other floors and nothing. One of the watchmen who does the overnight shift has told us in the past he heard a large dog barking late at night.

 

March 30, 2008 Sunday morning the building manager was in the basement near the boiler room. While he was standing near the bathroom, he heard someone trip and fall in the locked room just outside the boiler room. He said it was a sustained, loud noise. After checking and seeing no one he kicked the door! Then he remembered he heard the same thing in the same locked room a few weeks before! So, we will keep an eye on this area.

 

April 14, 2008 between the hours of 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. the night watchman kept hearing loud banging sounds from the basement, but when he investigated he saw nothing. Then around 4 a.m. he heard someone walking down the lobby staircase! He jumped up and checked out the stairwell seeing no one.

 

April 15, 2008 at 7:35 p.m. the guard was in the boiler room bathroom when he heard the sound of things falling in the locked room next to him. This is the room the manager keeps hearing this sound like he did on March 30, 2008. It was very clear, so much so it made his head turn fast in the direction of the noise. Real creepy.

 

April 19, 2008 at 6:15 a.m. the night watchman was in the freight elevator within the lobby when he heard someone knocking! 4 knocks and then another 4 knocks. He then looked into the lobby and no one was there. He said it was really creepy.

 

April 30, 2008 at 7 p.m. one of cleaners and the guard were standing near the lobby desk when a teenage girl got on the number one elevator headed to 4. The elevator door then opened again and they both saw a huge dark image of a person get off!! Then the elevator closed bringing the girl up to 4. Watching her on the camera, they could see she had no idea what just happened. Then at 9 p.m. the guard was in the basement when he heard two people talking down near the bathroom. He could not make out what they said, but it was a man and a woman.

 

May 4, 2008 at 8:15 p.m. the assistant manager and the guard were on the Mezz looking down in the bank watching the painters working. They stood there for about 5 mins, when the assistant manager turned and walked towards the elevator, then the guard turned and saw someone standing right next to him watching! He jumped! It was really wild. It was too fast to see what it looked like, but it was white and sort of solid. It was also the same spot many years ago when a guard saw a man in a suit walking and then vanish around 5 a.m.

 

Early May 2008 the bank was under major renovations. From a complete interior paint job to new rooms. Well, on one of the first nights of work, the painters were in the teller circle working on the pillars. One of the painters looked over at the entrance to the lobby ( the brass doors were closed ) at 2:50 a.m. and saw one of the inside wooden doors open and then close on its own! Now, these doors have to be pulled to open, there is no other way. He walked over and told his boss. He looked at him and said "the paint is getting to you!" Well, he was sure what he saw. So, a few nights pass and the painter is back in the teller circle with his boss. At around 3 a.m, he looks up and sees the doors doing it again! He taps his boss and says, LOOK !! Well, the boss saw it with his own eyes and was shocked!

 

Mid May 2008 around 4:30 a.m. one of the painters was working near the teller circle when he turned around and saw one of his partners standing behind him. He then turned around again and said "could you give me....???? He noticed no one was there! He looked again and his partner was 60 feet up on a work crane! He said, "oh man that was wild." By now these guys are starting to get really spooked.

 

Mid May 2008 all the painters were 40 to 60 feet up on cranes painting while their big radio was playing away down below on the counter. Around 2:30 a.m. the radio just shuts off! One of the painters comes down from his crane to check and noticed the knob was turned off. So, he turned it back on and headed back up the crane. A few moments go by and this time the volume is turned down all the way! They were freaking out and decided to just leave it off for the rest of the shift.

 

Late May 2008 one of the painters was walking in the bank with his paint at 2 a.m. when someone pulled his hair! It was right in the middle of the floor. Then, around 3:30 a.m. another painter was walking on the Elm Street side of the bank ( inside ) and saw a massive swirle of lights in one of the corners. He took a photo of it and showed the guards. They were shocked and never saw anything like it before in the building.

 

Early June 2008 two construction workers on the 2nd floor were getting into a very heated debate when suddenly the lights in the office began to blink on and off in rapid motion. They both became nervous and came to the conclusion the stories were true only after being there a few weeks.

 

June 18, 2008 at 10:30 p.m. the guard was walking on the 4th floor on the Elm Street side when he heard a window shacking from within one of the offices. So, being it was a windy night and rain on the way he decided to enter the office and close it. After he closed the widnow, he started to walk towards the office door when he heard someone right outside the door say HEY!!. Well, he froze in his tracks and waited to hear someone walk away or a door close. Nothing. So, he open the door really slow and see no one. He checked around and no one was there! Then, at 10:40 p.m. he was on the freight elevator going on to the 8th floor ( which is dark ) When the door opened, he saw a bright orb dart from the middle of the hallway right into the elevator! Then he saw it appear again in the middle of the hall and vanish.

 

July 10, 2008 at 1:00 p.m one of the ladies that work on the 5th floor ( who has been here for many years ) was walking from one interior office to the other when she saw a large man in a suit with no head walk by! Then it was gone. She had fear and amazment in her face. Also, this fits what guards once saw in the basment, minus the suit.

The law firm sent a group email out to the employees about the apparition.

 

July 25, 2008 at 3:30 a.m. the night watchman was in the lobby when he heard the storage room door slam in the basement. He took the freight elevator to check and of course no one was there. He returned to the lobby when he heard the door slam again in the basement. He took the elevator back down and told them to stop it. That was it for the night. There comes a time you learn to live with it.

 

August 15, 2008 at 9:10 p.m. the guard was walking down the spiral staircase in the bank to turn off the lights for the weekend. As he got to the 2nd to last step, he heard a little girl laughing! It was creepy! No one was there of course. All the doors were locked going into the vault area. Then, at 9:15 p.m. the guard was walking in the Mezz going towards to big conferance room when he heard a lady talking. He stopped and listened and then heard it again. It was coming from the room right in front of him. The building had a real spooky feeling that night. You could feel it in the air.

 

October 17, 2008 after 2 a.m. the night watchman was sitting at his post in the lobby, when he heard a door slam up in the lobby staircase. No one was there. It then occured again and again. Then, after about 30 mins, he heard a stick drop on the marble floor right next to his desk! He jumped and looked around seeing nothing!

 

October 18, 2008 at 2 p.m. the guard was in the basement with a guest when they both heard two men talking right next to them. They darted into the room seeing no one. They looked all around those three rooms and no one was there. It was so clear and being it was Saturday, there was no one down there.

 

December 2008 the night watchman was in the lobby around 3:30 a.m. when he looked up and saw four men in suits standing near the elevators looking at the wall. He was so terrified at what he saw he ran outside as he stood and struggled to lite his smoke.

 

January 2009 the building manager was down in his basement office around 6:15 a.m. before any tenants or employees arrived. As he was unlocking his door, he heard a group of people talking in the abandoned cafe. He looked down where the voices were coming from and saw no one. This continued until he left the building about one year later.

 

February 2009 The guard was sitting in the bank around 9 p.m. with most of the lights out taking a short break before rounds. He looked over towards the Elm Street side of the back area and saw a large, black shadow like person waving at him! This is the location where painters saw swirling lights at 4 a.m. and were abl to photograph them.

 

February 2009 The guard was in the bank around 10 p.m. when suddenly he heard a swarm of bees around him. It was so clear he ducked as if being attacked. Looking around nothing was there. It was one of the more uneasy encounters he ever had at the building.
